Lyn Sayers
is the inventor of the Contactacoat revolutionary rubber chip surface system for contact equipment.
He is an agility judge in New Zealand, and in addition to promoting rubberized contacts in New Zealand,
he was heavily involved with introducing electronic timing to New Zealand agility. Like many in agility,
Lyn was "bitten" by the bug and has never turned back.
Lyn and his three Schnauzers pose with the first Cross Over (yes, they still use them frequently in NZ!) to be coated with rubber chip which was covered in April 2005 and shows no signs of wear
From Lyn:
For the first 50 odd years of my life I thought of dogs as someone's idea of a bad joke. My earliest
recollections were of seeking alternative ways to walk to school to avoid the neighbours' canine family members. This only
got worse during my teenage years when my father employed me as a Butcher's delivery boy.
That all changed at Christmas 1997 when I met and fell in love with my sister's new Miniature Schnauzer - "Meldrew ".
Life since then has pretty much revolved around our new "canine children" and the sport of Agility.
Our household now boasts three Schnauzers:- Jasper the oldest is ADX, Jenna was the first of the breed to be made up in Agility and has ADX Gold, plus our latest acquisition Josie who commenced her agility career in January 2006 at Tokoroa. Jenna was the first dog in New Zealand to run in the "Champion of Champions Class" held at Counties in March 2005, she finished 4th.
I joined the Judges Panel in July 2002 and have officiated at events from Invercargill in the deep South to Whangarei in the North.
The Sayers motto :- "From dog phobic to dog manic in three easy Schnauzers"

Dave Jolly
has brought the Contactacoat revolutionary rubber chip surface system for contact equipment to the UK market.
He is keen to promote safer equipment for our dogs to both train and compete on.
From Dave:
Since starting agility with my first dog Bess in 1981 I've been hooked, in fact it now dictates my life!
I cannot claim to have invented anything in this sport (well apart from iSS!), but I am always on the look out for training methods and equipment that will help improve our sport - particularly when it comes to safety.
As well as competing at the highest levels in the UK, I also judge regularly, am also a Kennel Club Accredited Judges Trainer (Agility) and also sit on the Canine Activities Judges Working Party.
Through Jolly Good Dogs I provide 1-2-1 agility training for beginners through to potential World Champions as well as deliver training days in the UK and Europe and am proud to be a coach for Team GB.
Daisy Peel
is the sole retailer of the Contactacoat Contact Coating System in the US. She has been competing for several years in agility and was on the AKC USA World Team for the World Championships in 2007 in Norway and 2010 in Germany. She uses Contactacoat exclusively on all of the contacts at her training facility in Sumner, WA, It's A Dog's World, where they stand up to heavy use by classes each week.
From Daisy:
When I heard that rubber contacts were being used at the 2006 World Championships, I was keen to learn more about them. I couldn't find any place in the USA that sold such a product. Finally, I was put in touch with Lyn Sayers, who had designed and was selling a product in New Zealand.
I ordered a kit for my seesaw, and through that exchange, began the process of becoming the sole distributor of Contactacoat in the USA. I am proud to sell this product, as I believe it greatly increases the safety of the dogs while travelling at high speeds across the contacts, sometimes with not so great approaches.
I am happy to report that Contactacoat now meets the requirements for obstacle specifications for multiple agility organizations. I am looking forward to seeing more and more rubberized contacts!
Contactacoat is being distributed in the UK and Europe by Jolly Good Dogs.
